Which Apps Track Di2 and AXS Battery Level? Seven Options Compared

E-TUBE, SRAM AXS, Bike IQ and Di2Batt read the live charge. Componentry tracks distance since the last charge on every bike. See what each app reads.

To read the live charge on a Di2 or AXS battery, use Shimano E-TUBE Project Cyclist or the SRAM AXS app, or show it during a ride with Bike IQ on an iPhone or Di2Batt on a Garmin Edge (Di2 only). To track the distance each battery has covered since its last charge, across every bike, with a reminder before it runs low, use Componentry.

Those are two different jobs, so the right app to track Di2 battery level depends on which one you mean. A live reading tells you the state of one bike at the moment you connect to it. Tracking tells you which bike needs attention when you are not looking at any of them.

Componentry estimates from ride distance. It does not read the charge from the battery itself, so confirm the real level in the Shimano or SRAM app before a big ride.

Di2 and AXS Battery Apps Compared

We checked each row against the app's store listing or the maker's documentation in November 2026. "Not stated" means the listing does not say. It does not mean the feature is missing.

Apps That Read the Live Charge

Shimano E-TUBE Project Cyclist

E-TUBE Project Cyclist is Shimano's free phone app for firmware updates and Di2 customisation, and Shimano's E-TUBE site says it can check the remaining battery level. BetterShifting's guide shows where: connect to the bike, and the Maintenance tab lists the shifters and the main battery. Shifter levels can show a dash until you tap refresh.

The bike needs a Bluetooth LE wireless unit, and Shimano's app page says the app cannot connect without one. You see one bike at a time, while connected to it.

SRAM AXS

The SRAM AXS app is free, monitors the battery of each AXS component and holds multiple bike profiles. SRAM's support guide describes the display:

"Battery charge is displayed in the form of a ring around the component icon."

A green ring means Good, two red segments mean Low, and one red segment means Critically Low. The guide gives those three states, not a percentage. To check, you select the bike profile and wake the system. Power meters and tyre sensors connect separately.

Bike IQ

Bike IQ is an iPhone bike computer from Hatch Factory. Its App Store listing covers both groupset makers: it tracks gear position and drivetrain battery for SRAM AXS and Shimano Di2, on the free tier. Pro adds extras such as shifter controls for $6.99 a month, $49.99 a year or $119 for life on the US store. It suits a rider who wants the battery on screen during a ride without buying a head unit.

Di2Batt

Di2Batt is a free Connect IQ data field for Garmin Edge computers that puts gear position, Di2 battery level and cadence in one field. The listing is clear about its limits. It shows the main battery only, not the shifter batteries, and it does not show battery charge on SRAM. It also uses one of the Edge's three Bluetooth connections, so it can conflict with other sensors.

Two related fields fill gaps. Di2Explore, by the same developer, adds partial Di2 support to Edge Explore computers. Di2 Gear & Battery Viewer shows a battery percentage on a range of Edge models and costs €8.49 to remove a 15-minute limit per session.

Garmin Edge Stock Battery Fields

You may not need an extra app on a Garmin. The Edge 1050 manual lists two built-in data fields: Di2 Battery Level, for the remaining power of a Di2 sensor, and Gear Battery, for the status of a gear position sensor. Garmin added Di2 battery status to the Edge 530, 830, 1030 and 1030 Plus in a free update in December 2021. SRAM's AXS welcome guide also says a compatible computer can show AXS battery status.

Check the manual for your own unit, because the fields vary by model.

Charged: Battery Levels From Your Ride Files

Charged: Sensor Battery Alerts is a free battery dashboard that covers more than electronic shifting and alerts you after a ride when a device reports a low battery. It takes those levels from the activity files your computer records, and its supported devices page notes that what a device reports can depend on the computer that recorded it. It also has a Quick Scan for Bluetooth sensors, though that page does not yet confirm results for Di2 or AXS models.

Charged shows the level a device last reported. Its listing does not mention a count of distance since the last charge.

How to Track Di2 Battery Life Between Checks

A live reading has one weakness: you have to remember to take it. That is easy on one bike and easy to miss on three, and it does nothing for the bike in the back of the garage.

The battery is predictable enough to plan around. Shimano puts the BT-DN300 at about 1,000 km per charge, and your own number moves with how often you shift and the temperature. Our Di2 battery life guide covers those variables, and the Di2 and AXS battery tracking guide shows how to work out your personal range.

After that, the job is counting. Every ride adds distance to the battery on that bike, and you want a prompt before the total reaches your limit.

How Componentry Tracks Di2 and AXS Batteries Across Bikes

Componentry does that counting for you. Connect Strava, Garmin, Wahoo or Hammerhead once, and each ride adds distance to the battery on the bike you rode.

Add a Batteries component to each bike, with separate entries for each AXS component if you want them. Adding one offers a Charge groupset battery reminder. Give it a distance rule that matches your range, and a lower one on the bike you race. A reminder comes due when any of its rules is reached, so a date rule still fires on a bike that is sitting unused. The Reminders page then sorts every bike's reminders into Overdue, Due Soon, Upcoming and Scheduled.

Garmin, Wahoo and Hammerhead send the full ride file, which gives Componentry one more signal. When your computer recorded a battery status, the ride shows it under Reported Electronics, and a low reading sends a Low Battery Warning naming the sensor and the bike. This is the status from your last ride, as your computer recorded it. It is not a live reading, and a Strava-only account does not get it because Strava shares ride summaries only.

Componentry still estimates from ride distance and does not read the charge from the battery. Use E-TUBE or AXS to confirm the level before an event, and let Componentry tell you when to check.

What App Can Track My Di2 or AXS Battery Level?

What is the best AXS battery level app? The SRAM AXS app is free and shows every component in a paired system. Bike IQ shows AXS battery during a ride on an iPhone.

Can a Garmin show my Di2 battery? Yes, on compatible Edge models, through the Di2 Battery Level data field or Di2Batt.

Does Componentry read my battery percentage? No. It counts distance since your last charge and shows the last status your bike computer recorded in the ride file.

Which app works across several bikes? SRAM AXS holds multiple bike profiles but reads the one you connect to. Charged groups reported devices by bike. Componentry counts distance and sends reminders for every bike, without connecting to any of them.
