Troubleshooting Notifications
Solutions for common notification issues in Componentry, including missing notifications and delivery problems.
If you're not receiving notifications as expected, this guide covers common issues and their solutions for each notification channel.
Web (In-App) Notifications
Notifications Not Appearing
Check that you're logged in:
- Web notifications only appear when you're logged into Componentry
- Verify your session hasn't expired by checking if you can access your dashboard
Verify the notification bell:
- Look for the bell icon in the top navigation bar
- Click on it to see your notification list
- A badge indicates unread notifications
Clear browser cache:
- Cached data can sometimes interfere with real-time updates
- Clear your browser cache and refresh the page
- Try opening Componentry in an incognito/private window
Check notification preferences:
- Navigate to Settings → Notifications
- Verify the Web toggle is enabled for the notification types you expect
Notifications Delayed
Browser tab in background:
- Some browsers throttle background tabs
- Notifications may appear when you return to the Componentry tab
Internet connection:
- Slow or intermittent connections can delay notifications
- Check your network status
Email Notifications
Not Receiving Emails
Verify your email address:
- Go to your account settings
- Confirm your email address is correct
- If incorrect, update it and save
Check spam/junk folder:
- Notification emails may be filtered as spam
- Search for emails from Componentry
- Mark as "Not Spam" to improve future delivery
Add to whitelist: Add these to your email contacts or whitelist:
notifications@componentry.appnoreply@componentry.app
Check notification preferences:
- Navigate to Settings → Notifications
- Verify the Email toggle is enabled for the notification types you expect
Emails Going to Spam
Mark as "Not Spam":
- Find a Componentry email in your spam folder
- Mark it as "Not Spam" or "Not Junk"
- This trains your email provider
Add to contacts:
- Adding the sender email to your contacts can help
- Create a contact for

Create a filter: Most email providers allow you to create rules:
- Filter emails from
@componentry.app - Set them to always go to inbox
- Never mark as spam
Mobile Push Notifications
Not Receiving Push Notifications
Check app notification permissions:
iOS:
- Open Settings → Notifications
- Find the Componentry app
- Ensure "Allow Notifications" is enabled
- Verify alert style, sounds, and badges are configured
Android:
- Open Settings → Apps → Componentry
- Tap Notifications
- Ensure notifications are enabled
- Check that the notification channel isn't muted
Verify you're logged in:
- Open the Componentry mobile app
- Confirm you're logged into the same account
- Push notifications only work when authenticated
Check notification preferences:
- In the web app, navigate to Settings → Notifications
- Verify the Mobile toggle is enabled for the notification types you expect
Push Notifications Delayed
Check Do Not Disturb:
- Ensure your device isn't in Do Not Disturb mode
- Check for scheduled DND periods
Check battery optimization:
Android:
- Go to Settings → Apps → Componentry
- Tap Battery
- Select "Unrestricted" or disable battery optimization
Check internet connection:
- Push notifications require an active internet connection
- Verify WiFi or mobile data is enabled
Push Notifications Working on Web But Not Mobile
Ensure app is updated:
- Check for updates in the App Store or Play Store
- Install the latest version of Componentry
Try signing out and back in:
- Sign out of the mobile app
- Close the app completely
- Reopen and sign back in
- This re-registers your device for push notifications
General Troubleshooting
Some Notification Types Working, Others Not
Check individual preferences:
- Each notification type has separate toggles for each channel
- Verify the specific notification type is enabled
Wait for the trigger event:
- Notifications only fire when their trigger event occurs
- For example, "Activity Processed" only fires when an activity is processed
Changes Not Saving
Check your internet connection:
- Preference changes require an active connection
- Verify you're online
Refresh the page:
- After making changes, refresh to confirm they saved
- Check that toggles reflect your intended settings
